Don was born in Waco, Texas. At an early age Don knew he wanted to be a musician. At age 11 he got a set of drums for Christmas. A year or two later he started playing guitar as well. The first bands he played in were as the drummer. It wasn’t until shortly after graduating high school he joined his first band playing guitar. He played in a few various bands around Houston for the next few years.

Don began playing guitar professionally in 1989 when he joined local Houston band, W.C. Blaze. W.C. Blaze was an original/cover band that played the south/southeast club circuit doing 70’s and 80’s hard rock and metal. Don played with W.C. Blaze until 1991.

In 1991, Don joined Logan, a band featuring former Lillian Axe vocalist, Johnny Vines. Logan quickly became a big draw in Houston and recorded a demo in the summer of ’91 that drew attention from multi-platinum producer/engineer Geoff Workman. Logan recorded the E.P. “One Step Closer” in January/February of 1992. Logan played Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi and in the summers of ’92 and ’93 traveled to New York City doing showcase tours. Due to the rise of the “Seattle/Grunge” sound, Logan disbanded in 1995.

In 1997, Don joined local Houston band Mystic Cross. Mystic Cross was an original/cover band that played many venues in Houston, and had already recorded one CD. Shortly after joining Mystic Cross the band began writing for its next release, “Shadows in the Mind”. In the spring of 2000 Mystic Cross released “Shadows”. In the years Don played with Mystic Cross the band played various cities in Texas and Louisiana. Mystic Cross won the southwest region of Pepsi’s battle of the bands, “Bandemonium”, in Denver in 1999. The band also traveled to Tokyo, Japan to play in 2000.

In 2004 Don helped form Six Minute Century. Six Minute Century is an original power/prog metal band. SMC has played in different Houston venues to rave reviews. The band signed a deal with Nightmare Records in the summer of 2007. The debut CD, "Time Capsules", is set for release on March 18, 2008.

In 2005 Don also joined Mindcrime, A Tribute to Queensryche. Subsequently Don joined original band Krucible with members of Mindcrime. Krucible welcomed legendary prog/power metal vocalist Lance King (Avian, Shining Star, ex-Pyramaze, ex-Balance of Power) to the band.Krucible played the Prog/Power showcase on October 3, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. The band is currently writing music and recording a full length CD to be released in 2008 with Lance.

Don now plays with Six Minute Century, Krucible, and Mindcrime. While not together as a band, Don is playing a limited number of dates with Mystic Cross.
